Additional Information on Tuesday’s School Locksdowns

Aberdeen Police responded to reports of a potential gunman at three schools after receiving two anonymous tips via a crisis hotline. The first tip warned that a gunman was on the way to Aberdeen Elementary School, while the second claimed he had arrived at the school with a rifle. Officers from multiple agencies immediately secured the schools, placing Aberdeen Elementary on a hard lockdown and Southern Middle School and Academy of Moore on soft lockdowns. After thorough searches of the premises, vehicles, and surrounding areas, no credible threat was found. Once the situation was deemed safe, the schools began dismissing students under heightened security, with students being escorted to buses and vehicles following safety checks. The source of those false tips is still under investigation. For additional information and video see MooreBreakingNewz.com.
