Major Upgrades Coming to 10 Miles of N.C. 690

The N.C. Department of Transportation is improving 10 miles of N.C. 690 between Vass and Spring Lake to enhance safety and road quality. Recent work includes resurfacing and the installation of wider shoulders, with more upgrades planned, such as rumble strips and high-visibility markings. Wingstop Bringing Famous Chicken Wings to Southern Pines

Attention wing fans! Wingstop will open a new 2,500-square-foot location in the Center Park Shopping Center (11109 Highway 15-501) next to Harris Teeter in Southern Pines, in late October. This will be the first Wingstop in Moore County and one of 43 locations in the state. Known for its 12 signature wing flavors, the restaurant will offer dine-in, carryout, and delivery options. Junction Hall Renovations Clear Hurdles

The Town of Aberdeen Planning Board has approved most of the proposed renovations for Junction Hall, a food hall project in a historic building downtown. While there was debate over painting the brick exterior, the board approved the plan, citing structural concerns. Other approved updates include new doors, windows, and a walk-up takeout window.
