Florida Firm Invests $3M in Residential Land Between Southern Pines and Aberdeen

DF Capital Management, a private equity firm based in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, recently purchased 34.5 acres of land zoned for residential development for just over $3 million. The property is situated off Fort Bragg Road, between Southern Pines and Aberdeen.

This acquisition was made through DF Capital’s entity, DFC Montrose, and is part of the firm’s broader strategy of investing in single-family residential real estate. DF Capital Management is partnering with Florida-based homebuilder Dream Finders Homes Inc. to develop the land.

Moore County has become a hot spot for out-of-state investors, driven by its recent population growth. The county's population grew from approximately 88,000 in 2010 to 107,000 by 2023, making it an attractive area for residential real estate development.

Pottery Pinecone Scavenger Hunt to Celebrate Great Trails State Day

To celebrate Great Trails State Day on October 19, the Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen Area CVB has partnered with Seagrove potter Crystal King to produce 30 pottery pinecones. These limited-edition "Crystal Cones" will be hidden along trails in Moore County as part of a special scavenger hunt. Sandy Ramey Keith Park in Vass Awarded $225K for Expansion

Governor Roy Cooper has announced $17.9 million in grants for 46 local parks and recreation projects in North Carolina through the Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF). One of the recipients, the Town of Vass, was awarded $225,000 to expand Sandy Ramey Keith Park.
