Authorities Still Need Assistance in Identifying Dog Owner from Aberdeen Lake Incident
The Aberdeen Police Department continues asking for the public's help in identifying a man involved in a dog-biting incident that occurred at Aberdeen Lake on August 7, 2024. The man, described as an older white male with a bald head and a full white beard, was seen walking with a medium to large brindle-colored dog of an unknown breed. He was accompanied by a younger woman, approximately 5'5" in height with long brown hair, who was walking two long-haired dogs, one white and one black, resembling labradors. If you can help identify these individuals, contact the Aberdeen Police Department at (910) 944-9721. To remain anonymous, call (910) 944-4561
100-Bed Nursing Facility Gets Green Light from Pinehurst Village Council
Pinehurst Village Council has taken a significant step forward in approving the SanStone Midland, a proposed 100-bed health and rehabilitation center to be located on Midland Road. During a second public hearing, the council reviewed the 73,000-square-foot facility's site plan, which includes comprehensive infrastructure such as a two-lane entry drive, parking, utilities, and stormwater management.
The plan also features extensive landscaping, including natural gardens and a small putting green for residents. Concerns about traffic and potential light pollution were addressed with proposed vegetation buffers and adjustments to the access design. With these issues resolved, the Village Council unanimously approved the plans, moving the project closer to construction. The facility, which will be the largest skilled nursing center in Pinehurst, is expected to operate 24/7 and employ approximately 100 people. See details SandhillsSentinel.com.
