U.S. Kids Golf World Championship & Parade of Nations

The Village of Pinehurst was alive and teaming with young golfers and their families Tuesday evening as they lined up and marched through Pinehurst in the Parade of Nations. The U.S. Kids Golf World Championships in Pinehurst hosts young golfers, featuring events like the Parade of Nations, Parent-Child Tournament, and Trackman Demo Days. The tournament culminates with the Van Horn Cup on Pinehurst No. 4, where top 12-year-olds compete. More details at USKidsGolf.com.

Gas Leak Prompts Evacuation in Pinehurst No. 9 Community

A gas leak in the Pinehurst No. 9 community led to the evacuation of a home and the closure of National Drive. The Southern Pines Fire Department is conducting a propane burn-off to safely remove the gas after an underground tank ruptured during refilling. See details CBS17.com.

Adoption Fees Waived at Moore County Animal Shelter

The Moore County animal shelter, now at full capacity, is waiving all adoption fees for a short time to help find homes for its many available pets. The community is encouraged to adopt and spread the word. Source: Moore County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services
