Multiple Wrecks in Moore County Over the Weekend

Driver Extricated from Wrecked Audi in Midland Road Accident

A single-vehicle accident on Midland Road Friday night at Glen Meadow Court required emergency responders to extricate a trapped female driver from a heavily damaged Audi. Adverse weather conditions prevented helicopter transport, so the victim was taken to FirstHealth in Pinehurst by ambulance. Driver Ejected in Rollover Crash on Lea Road

A rollover accident Friday night involving a convertible Camaro on Lea Road off US 15-501 resulted in the driver being ejected from the vehicle. Aircare was initially called but later canceled, with the adult male victim transported to FirstHealth Hospital by ambulance. T-Bone Collision Shuts Down N.C. 24-27 Outside Carthage

A T-bone collision on N.C. 24-27 outside Carthage shut down the highway Saturday night. The crash involved a Kia sedan and a Dodge truck, with the truck rolling over due to brake failure on the Kia. Both drivers were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The road was closed for debris removal and investigation by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Man Walks Away from Rollover Crash on McCrimmon Road

A man escaped injury Saturday evening after his Lexus skidded and flipped in a single-vehicle crash on McCrimmon Road outside Carthage. Emergency responders evaluated the driver on-site, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. See details SandhillsSentine.com.

Sandhill Regional Libraries to Upgrade Tech and Expand Digital Learning

The Sandhill Regional Library System (SRLS) plans to use a $500,000 grand from Digital Championsto close the digital divide across Anson, Hoke, Moore, Montgomery, and Richmond counties. The grant will fund new desktop computers, mobile computer labs, additional hotspots, and digital literacy education programs. These initiatives will enhance public technology infrastructure, increase digital connectivity, and provide personalized training to patrons of the library. See more details SandhillsSentinel.com.

NCDOT Plans Midland Road Improvements in Southern Pines

The NCDOT plans to enhance Midland Road in Southern Pines, from Airport Road to Clark Street. Key changes include widening Midland Road, adding turn lanes, and removing some U-turns. An open house meeting will take place on July 31 to gather public input, which can also be submitted online or by phone until August 29. For more details on the project visit NCDOT.com.
