Moore County Eyes Dual Racetrack Projects for Economic Boost
You thought there was just one? Moore County could be the host of two exciting racetrack projects: Uwharrie Motorsports Park, a public 3.6-mile track inspired by the Nürburgring, and Cameron Motor Club, a private 1.7-mile track with luxury amenities. While Uwharrie Motorsports Park promises economic revitalization in a designated opportunity zone, the Cameron Motor Club aims to offer a secluded, upscale experience for members. Both projects seek to transform Moore County into a major driving destination, despite facing some community opposition. See details CarandDriver.com.
National Interest: Congress Considers New Cyber Force Amid Rising Threats
Congress is considering the creation of a new cyber force to tackle the growing cyber threats from geopolitical rivals like China and to address ongoing organizational and staffing issues within U.S. military cyber operations. The proposed study, included in the annual defense policy bill, mirrors the process that led to the creation of the Space Force.
Advocates believe a dedicated cyber force could resolve chronic personnel shortages and provide specialized focus, while opponents warn of potential disruptions and believe recent changes at Cyber Command could address these issues more efficiently. Regardless of the outcome, each military branch will still need to manage its unique cyber needs. See details WUNC.org.
