Dryer Fire Prompts Emergency Response in Carthage
Emergency responders extinguished a fire on Niagra Carthage Road, Carthage, on Tuesday evening. Firefighters rescued a woman from the smoke-filled home, who was later hospitalized with non-life-threatening smoke inhalation injuries. A second person and a dog escaped unharmed. Robbins License Plate Agency to Reopen July 10 Under New Management
The N.C. DMV will reopen the license plate agency in Robbins on July 10, managed by Daniel Frazier. The agency, located at 141 S. Middleton St., will operate Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. LPAs in North Carolina are managed by private entities or local governments and offer services like vehicle registration and license plate renewals. There are 123 such agencies across the state. See details Sandhills Sentinel.
Major Drug Bust in Vass Leads to Arrest of Cameron Man
Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced the arrest of Omari Ade Grant, 36, following a drug investigation in Moore County. On July 2, detectives seized 1,587.5 grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm from a vehicle in Vass. A subsequent search in Cameron uncovered more drugs, cash, and firearms. Grant faces multiple felony charges and will appear in court on July 31, 2024. Source: Moore County Sheriff’s Office
