Eagle Springs Blaze Controlled by Coordinated Efforts of Firefighters

A large brush fire on Parker Road in Eagle Springs prompted a massive multi-agency response on Monday. Dry conditions and strong winds caused the fire to spread rapidly, leading to the deployment of a Tanker Task Force and a plow from the NC Forest Service. Felony Child Abuse Charge in Moore County After Alcohol Incident

Javan Luke Overton, a 37-year-old man from Eagle Springs, NC, has been arrested after providing alcohol to a 15-year-old, resulting in a medical emergency on June 29, 2024. Following a joint investigation by the Moore County Sheriff's Office and North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement, Overton was charged with felony child abuse, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and several alcohol-related offenses. He is being held on a $30,000 secured bond and is set to appear in Moore County District Court on July 24, 2024. See details MooreBreakingNewz.com.

Cameron Man Arrested for Alleged Sexual Abuse of Minors

29-year-old Justen Lawrence Waegnerfrom of Cameron has been arrested following reports of sexual abuse of minors that allegedly occurred over several years. After a brief attempt to flee, Waegner was apprehended by investigators. He faces multiple felony charges, including forcible rape and sex offenses with a child. Waegner is held without bond and will appear in court on July 24. See details CBS17.com.
