Moore County Schools and Sandhill Libraries Receive Major Digital Equity Grants
North Carolina will distribute $30 million in Digital Champion grants to 63 organizations to enhance digital equity. Funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, the grants will provide devices, affordable internet access, and digital literacy training to various target populations. Moore County Schools and the Sandhill Regional Library System are among the recipients, receiving $300,000 and $500,000 respectively. Governor Cooper and NCDIT Secretary Jim Weaver emphasize the importance of digital inclusion for work, learning, and connectivity. The initiative aims to address digital accessibility, affordability, and literacy across the state. See details Sandhills Sentinel.
