Mobile Home Thefts Lead to Arrest in Hoke County

The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office reported the theft of seven mobile homes and a stove from Green Pines Mobile Home Park, leading to the identification and arrest of Ryan Gabriel Doby. Doby faces eight counts of felony larceny and was detained without bond due to a pretrial release violation. Authorities continue to seek information on the case. Contact Lt. Quick Response Saves Family Dollar from Nearby Vehicle Fire

Pinebluff Fire & Rescue quickly extinguished a vehicle fire in the Family Dollar parking lot on US Highway 1 Monday afternoon, preventing the blaze from spreading to the nearby store. Despite the intense heat, firefighters managed to contain the fire, although the car sustained significant damage. See details MooreBreakingNewz.com.

Dysoaneik Spellman Sworn In as Aberdeen Police Deputy Chief

Pinehurst Traffic Circle Controversy

Moore County leadership and residents have all been discussing this issue for years. One of the newest proposals from the NCDOT is a “Shifted Pillow” intersection. Most notably, this deletes the beautiful Midland Road drive as you approach the Pinehurst Resort.   • July 16, 2024 - Pinehurst - Pinehurst Elementary

  • July 18, 2024 - Carthage - Moore County Cooperative Extension (Ag Bldg.)

  • July 23, 2024 - Aberdeen - First Baptist Church of Aberdeen

Southern Pines Road Closure:

  • S. Bennett Street, between W. Wisconsin and W. Illinois avenues, will be periodically closed through the end of July. Sidewalks and storm water systems are being expanded and improved along the roadway. This is part of the Town of Southern Pines' sidewalk improvement plan.

The first Homeless Resource Fair on Veterans Day weekend attracted 250 attendees and 22 partner organizations, providing essential services and resources. That Christmas, TEAM WORKZ served 225 meals at Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen and donated winter clothing and food to those in need.
