Moore County Airport Gears Up for U.S. Open Traffic Surge

Moore County Airport is preparing for the surge in traffic during the U.S. Open. The airport will welcome increased corporate traffic, including players, their families, corporate clients, and golf enthusiasts. It is anticipated that from June 8 through June 18, the airport will handle over 3,000 arrivals and departures, accommodating around 5,000 passengers from around the globe. A temporary air control tower and new fee structures are in place to manage the influx. Opposition to Uwharrie Motorsports Park Grows with New Partnership

A group opposing a luxury driving resort in northwest Moore County is collaborating with Moore Family Farms to stop the development. A recent meeting at Cagle’s Diner brought together residents from several counties to discuss the proposed Uwharrie Motorsports Park and Resort. Moore Family Farms is distributing information to raise awareness and protect the region's rural character. See details Courier-Tribune.com.
