Media Coalition Supports Transparency Lawsuit Against Pinehurst Officials

Major North Carolina media outlets back a lawsuit at the state Court of Appeals against Pinehurst officials, accusing them of violating open-meetings requirements by using emails to conduct public business. The suit, filed by Kevin Drum and NC Citizens for Transparent Government, seeks to establish that emails can be considered official meetings under the state's Open Meetings Law. The Court of Appeals has allowed the lawsuit to proceed, overturning a trial court's dismissal. See details CarolinaJournal.com.

NC Sports Betting Generates $30.8 Million in State Revenue

Since the launch of sports betting in North Carolina on March 11, residents have wagered $1.3 billion, including $282.3 million through promotional offers. With $171.7 million in taxable gross wagering revenue, the state has gained $30.8 million in new revenue, which will fund various programs and subsidies. Remaining funds will be distributed to the state's general fund, a "major events" fund, and university athletic programs. See details BusinessNC.com.

Business Spotlight: Tina Picariello, Pinehurst Petsitter

Meet Tina Picariello, a cherished member of our Pinehurst community for over 24 years. Tina has become a beloved figure in the world of pet care. Transitioning from a two-decade-long career in the medical field to a focus on pet sitting, Tina has been passionately serving the pets and families in our local area for over three years.

“I have always loved caring for and connecting with animals,” Tina shares. “Creating everlasting relationships with pets and their owners is incredibly rewarding. My goal is to provide the highest quality care for your fur babies, ensuring that pet owners can enjoy a worry-free time away from their pets.”

Living a busy life can make it challenging to give pets the consistent attention and care they need. That's where Tina steps in. Her dedication to providing exceptional pet care has resulted in years of satisfied pet owners and happy, well-cared-for pets. One of the unique aspects of Tina's service is her commitment to keeping pet owners connected with their pets. “I send daily updates and photos. I also create videos and posts on social media,” Tina explains. “A few of my videos have garnered over 200,000 views, and one even reached 1.1 million views.”

Tina's readiness to meet any pet's needs ensures that every pet receives the best care and love. She emphasizes, “Their happiness and care are my priorities. I strive to provide a service I would want for my own pets.” For added convenience, Tina offers same-day multi-visit discounts and weekly discounted rates.

Residents of Pinehurst can rest assured knowing their pets are in good hands with Tina Picariello. For more information or to schedule a pet sitting service, visit her website at www.furbabyfriends1.com.
