FirstHealth and the Community Celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day

On Thursday evening May 9th, the Fair Barn was alive with friends and family in the community celebrating Cancer survivors with a beach music party and desserts. Attendees, mostly dressed in bright beachwear, were treated to a delightful dessert bar, remarks and a song from Rebecca Lapping, and beach music by a local favorite, the Sand Band.

Rebecca Lapping, a breast cancer survivor, told her story of diagnosis, treatment, and survival, followed by singing a heartfelt song that she wrote during her treatment phase. After remarks from Rebecca, the audience enjoyed a Carolina Shag dance demo from Sam and Lisa West of Hamlet. The rest of the evening was filled with beach music, dancing, and lots of smiles. The event was organized by FirstHealth.
