Trespassing Incident Leads to Shooting in Carthage

A shooting in Carthage, Moore County, led to the death of a man following a confrontation with a homeowner on the evening of May 3. Sheriff Ronnie Fields has confirmed that an investigation is underway, with detectives and forensic teams actively involved. Details are limited pending further investigation and family notification. Southern Pines Emergency Services Respond to Early Morning House Fire Sunday

A fire erupted in a home on West New Hampshire Avenue, Southern Pines, early Sunday, May 5. First responders saw flames and smoke upon arrival and quickly addressed the main fire, though more time was needed to eliminate all hot spots and ventilate the area. Multi-Vehicle Collision on U.S. 1n Pinebluff

Saturday evening, May 4, a collision at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Addor Road in Pinebluff involved a Toyota SUV and a Honda Civic, leading to non-life-threatening injuries for the Toyota’s occupants. No serious injuries were reported, and the incident adds to a series of accidents historically occurring at this location. The crash is currently under investigation by the N.C.
