Southern Pines to Welcome New Caribou Coffee Location

Caribou Coffee is set to open a new location on Highway 15-501 near Hickory Tavern in Southern Pines. The full-service coffeehouse will feature indoor and outdoor seating and a drive-thru, with construction beginning early summer and opening slated for the end of summer. Truck Overturns on Jackson Springs Road

A truck rollover accident on Jackson Springs Road Monday afternoon , 4/22/24, led to the driver being seriously injured and airlifted to a trauma center. The road was closed for several hours as emergency responders from Moore and Montgomery Counties worked to manage the scene. The incident is under investigation by the NC State Highway Patrol. A report from 247 Wall St, utilizing 2022 American Community Survey data identifies 22 of North Carolina's wealthiest counties, where median household incomes significantly surpass the state's average of $66,186. These counties showcase robust employment rates and higher-than-average home values, reflecting their economic prosperity. Moore County ranks #10 of the 22:

• Median household income: $77,981

• Median home value: $284,000

• 5-yr. avg. unemployment rate: 4.2%

• Population: 100,759
