Moore County Board of Education Passes $166M Budget for 2024-2025

The Moore County Board of Education has approved a $166.57 million budget for the 2024-2025 school year, incorporating cost-saving measures by freezing some vacant positions and applying for a federal grant to reduce technology expenses. The budget, highlighting issues with the fund balance and forecasting adjustments based on potential legislative changes, is slated for presentation to county commissioners. Other board decisions included adherence to state calendar guidelines for the school year and the settlement of a legal issue concerning bail bond funds distribution. See details Sandhills Sentinel.
