Vinfast Vehicle Manuracturer Chatham County Update
VinFast reaffirmed their commitment to opening a new $4 billion electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Moncure by late 2025, despite initial delays. Moncure, located in Chatham County, is within commuting distance from Moore County. The plant, expected to create 7,500 jobs, has prompted significant investment from the state. The company is also expanding its U.S. dealership network to support increased inventories, which currently make up a substantial portion of their assets. VinFast's stock took a hit after the recent earnings announcement, but the project promises significant economic benefits for the region. See details newsobserver.com.
