Painted Ponies Auction Raises $102,000

The 5th Annual Painted Ponies ArtWalk Exhibit was a smashing success, raising $102,000 for the Carolina Horse Park from the auction of 16 artistically designed pony sculptures. Congratulations to all the lucky new owners of the 16 stunning pieces of art!

Firefighters Overcome Outbuilding Fire in Vass

An early morning fire on April 6th in Vass prompted a swift response from multiple fire departments, including Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue and Southern Pines Fire/Rescue. The fire consumed an outbuilding and threatened a garage on White Rock Rd. before quickly being brought under control. The Moore County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause.

Overnight Road Improvements on Page Road and Highway 15-501

NCDOT begins nighttime infrastructure improvements at Page Road, Memorial Drive, and along Highway 15-501 between the traffic circle and Hwy 73, with work scheduled from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. this week. Flaggers will assist motorists.

Town of Vass Looking for Old Pictures

The Town of Vass is looking for old pictures, especially of the Vass Water Treatment Plant. We will try to dig up an email address where you can send them.
