Carthage Welcomes The Buggy Factory: A Blend of History, Craft Beer, and Unique Eats

Carthage is eagerly anticipating the grand opening of its latest attraction, The Buggy Factory by Southern Pines Brewing Company, set to welcome patrons in April 2024. The Buggy Factory is breathing new life into a building with a storied past.

Over 125 years ago, the premises served as the home of the historic Tyson & Jones Buggy Factory. Today, it has been meticulously transformed by owner Micah Niebauer and his dedicated team into a state-of-the-art two-story restaurant, bar, and brewery operation, offering a unique experience not found elsewhere in Moore County.

The Buggy Factory will not only feature Southern Pines Brewing Company's beloved craft beers but will also introduce a mouthwatering Detroit-style pizza menu and an array of handcrafted cocktails. Guests can look forward to enjoying live music on a dedicated stage and relaxing in a beer garden designed to celebrate the brewery's fan-favorite selections.

For those seeking a more subdued atmosphere, the Tyson & Jones downstairs speakeasy will provide a cozy escape with its specially crafted cocktail menu and intimate setting.

Town of Cameron Town Hall will be CLOSED today, March 26

Fire in Secluded Area Near Carthage Tests Firefighting Resources and Response

A fire that started from debris burning out of control destroyed an abandoned mobile home in Moore County on Monday March 25th and challenged firefighters due to its remote location. The fire was located in a secluded wooded area off Daily Drive, near US Highway 15-501, outside Carthage. Despite the difficulties in accessing the site and managing the fire, no other homes were damaged, thanks to the efforts of multiple departments and the NC Forestry Service.
