Sandhills Community College 1st in Southeast to Adopt Innovative Collision Technician Training

The Collision Engineering program (CEP), a collaborative initiative by the Enterprise Holdings Foundation and Ranken Technical College, is expanding to the Southeast, starting with Sandhills Community College in North Carolina. This program aims to fill the growing demand for collision technicians through a two-year degree that integrates classroom learning with paid apprenticeships. With plans to extend into other states and strong local support for the initiative, the CEP represents a significant step forward in vocational education and workforce development in the automotive repair industry. Temporary Lane Closure on US 1 North, Aberdeen This Saturday

This Saturday, the right northbound lane of US 1 near Elm Street will be closed from 9:00 a.m. for utility relocation work, with the left lane remaining open. The work is weather-dependent and expected to last 12 hours. Drivers are urged to be cautious due to workers near the road.

Page Road Closure Scheduled for Intersection Upgrade Starting March 12

NCDOT announces the temporary closure of Page Road, between Highway 15-501 and Regional Drive, from March 12th until late April, due to an intersection realignment project. Detour signs will be in place, and motorists are advised to contact NCDOT for further information.

Temporary Closure and Operational Shift at Moore County Landfill

Moore County Landfill will be closed on March 21, 2024, for new scale installations, reopening on March 22 with a temporary cubic yard fee schedule until scales become operational on March 25. This schedule adjustment is vital for improving landfill services.
