Golf Galaxy plans March 8 Opening at Morganton Park South

Anticipation mounts for the opening of several key retailers in Morganton Park South, following the completion of Carolina Green Parkway. Early openings include Golf Galaxy with a March 8 planned opening and DICK’S Sporting Goods to follow around the same time, with others like HomeGoods,Five Below and Half Moon Outfitters to follow in late March. The 147,000-square-foot Target store is aiming for an October opening. The project also includes a 269-unit apartment complex and future plans for a BJ’s Wholesale Club and Starbucks, marking significant growth and investment in Southern Pines. Elderly Couple Found Dead in Pinehurst Home

An ongoing investigation is in place after a caretaker found an elderly couple deceased in their Pinehurst home around 9am Tuesday morning, February 20. Officials are in the process of notifying the family, stating the incident poses no threat to the public and appears to be isolated. More details to come, Sandhills Sentinel.

Public Assistance Requested in Locating Murder Suspect Margaret Marie Davis

The Moore County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Marshals are seeking public assistance in locating Margaret Marie Davis, who is currently wanted on charges of Second Degree Murder. Authorities urge anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to come forward and contact them at 910-303-2597. Davis is said to frequent Southern Pines and Aberdeen.
