Warning: Rabies Detected in Bats in Moore County

In response to two bats testing positive for rabies, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services has issued a public warning urging residents to avoid touching bats and to exercise caution around them. The warning highlights the lethal nature of rabies and advises on preventive measures such as vaccinating pets and educating children about the risks. Residents are instructed to cover any encountered bats with a box and contact an animal control officer at 910-947-2931.

Rabies Clinic in Carthage Feb. 17

Carthage Farm Supply is hosting a rabies clinic February 17, 8am-4pm, provided by the Moore County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services. The shelter will be closed that day in order to do rabies vaccinations. Vaccines will be $5 cash. Carthage Farm Supply is located at 3710 US 15 in Carthage. You do not have to be a resident of Moore County to participate. Source: Moore County Sheriff’s Office

Aberdeen Police Seek Public's Help in Best Buy Larceny Case

The Aberdeen Police Department is calling on the community for assistance in identifying above individual who may be connected to a larceny incident at Best Buy. The police express their appreciation for any information that can aid in the investigation.
