Pinecone Pathways Hunt Returns March 19
The Pinecone Pathways hunt is returning to North Carolina's Sandhills from March 19 to April 22, offering participants the chance to win an exciting grand prize. This year's prize includes two ground passes to the 2024 U.S. Open, admission for two to the World Golf Hall of Fame, a golf round at Wee Pines, an hour at Double Eagle Indoor Golf, and a $100 gift card to 195 American Fusion restaurant. This event combines the thrill of the hunt with the allure of golf and fine dining.
Arrest Made in Southern Pines Vehicle Theft and Break-In Case
A 17-year-old juvenile from Southern Pines has been arrested by the Southern Pines Police Department for a series of vehicle thefts and break-ins that occurred in Midsouth, Arboretum, Tanglewood, and W. Illinois Avenue. The juvenile faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges and is currently in a secure custody facility pending a court hearing. The investigation is ongoing, with additional charges expected.
In light of these developments, the Southern Pines Police Department is actively seeking further information from the community regarding these crimes. Aberdeen Seeks Member for Historic Preservation Commission
The Town of Aberdeen is inviting applications for a vacancy in its Historic Preservation Commission. This role is ideal for residents with experience or interest in historic preservation, architecture, history, planning, or archaeology. The appointed member will serve a four-year term and attend monthly meetings. The Commission’s responsibilities include guiding property owners in conserving historic areas and reviewing applications for Certificates of Appropriateness.
To be eligible for the HPC, candidates must be residents of the Town of Aberdeen. The Commission seeks individuals with proven experience or a keen interest in the preservation of historic structures. It is also open to professionals in architecture, history, planning, archaeology, or related fields.

Concourse in the Village 2024 Applications Open
Applications for the 2024 'Concours in the Village' at the Sandhills Motoring Expo are now open, with a deadline in May. The event features 'French judging', focusing on the overall impression of vehicles, in line with the tradition of early French 'Concours d’Elegance'. Interested participants must apply here.

MCSOAS Waiving Adoption Fees For Current Adoptees
The Moore County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services is waiving adoption fees for their current adoptees. The standard adoption process and background check will still apply. Now is a great chance to adopt a new furry family member.
