Porsche to Shine as Featured Marque at the Newly Branded Sandhills Motoring Expo
The Sandhills Motoring Expo, previously known as the Sandhills Motoring Festival, will feature Porsche as its highlighted marque this year in Pinehurst. The event, under the new leadership of Chris Smith, founder of the Sandhills Motoring Club, aims to showcase a variety of Porsche models, both classic and modern. More details about the Expo are forthcoming.
This rebranding marks a new era for the Expo, focusing on automotive culture and community involvement. The Expo team acknowledges the contributions of former President Marvin Waters and is excited to offer an enhanced experience for attendees. Further details and registration information for the event will be announced soon. See details SandhillsMotoringExpo.com
Southern Pines Announces New Trail for Bikes and Pedestrians
The Town of Southern Pines, together with NCDOT, is developing a multi-modal trail on Knoll Road, enabling biking and walking from Midland Road to Airport Road. This project, a crucial element of the 2010 Bicycle Transportation Plan, is estimated to cost $2.09 million, with the Town and NCDOT sharing the expenses. Emphasizing community involvement, the project seeks public input to refine the design and address concerns. To offer input go to Southern-pines.civilspace.io.

Help Identify Malfunctioning Street Lights in Aberdeen!
Duke Energy is calling on the residents of Aberdeen to assist in identifying malfunctioning street lights within the town limits. Residents who notice a non-working street light are encouraged to note the nearest address or the pole number and report this information to the Aberdeen Public Works Department. This can be done by calling 910-944-7012 or emailing staff at [email protected] or [email protected].
New Collaboration to Propel Adult Education and Workforce Development in Moore County
The Moore County Chamber of Commerce is one of nine organizations participating in a national initiative by the ACCE (Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives) to enhance collaborations with community colleges and organizations, aiming to increase the number of adult learners of color earning relevant credentials or degrees. Funded by the Lumina Foundation, this program involves teams from nine regions, including Moore County, which is partnering with Sandhills Community College and the Southern Pines Land and Housing Trust. The initiative seeks to address barriers to credential attainment and develop long-term strategies for educational and professional success. See details MooreCountyChamber.com .
