North Carolina Recall of Blue Ridge Beef Pet Food

Blue Ridge Beef, a pet food company in Statesville, North Carolina, has broadened its recall to include more states due to Salmonella and Listeria contamination in some pet foods. Initially affecting seven states, the recall now includes 16 states: Connecticut, Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, North Carolina, New York, Michigan, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

The recall targets specific lots of their 2lb Kitten Grind, Kitten Mix, and Puppy Mix, distributed from November 14 to December 20, 2023. These products, sold in clear plastic packaging at retail stores, have not yet been linked to any reported illnesses. Blue Ridge Beef advises customers to contact them for refunds and recommends disposing of the pet foods safely to avoid accidental consumption. They also urge cleaning and sanitizing any items that came in contact with the recalled products. See full story USAToday.com
