Sandhills Community College Student's Aim Lands Him a $100,000 Dr Pepper Scholarship

Andrew Jimenez, a student and student body president at Sandhills Community College, won the Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway, receiving a $100,000 scholarship. This all happened during halftime of the SEC Championship game this past Saturday. He achieved this by skillfully throwing 18 balls into a target, a feat he prepared for with the support of his college and friends. This win is particularly meaningful for Jimenez, who has endured the loss of both parents in recent years. He plans to study marketing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and aspires to work in professional basketball. He is a 2022 graduate of Pinecrest High School. See full story WRAL.com
