Pinewild Approved for Phase 5 Expansion

Residents of Pinewild have voiced concerns over the upcoming development phase, citing issues from construction traffic and wildlife disruption to stormwater handling and property boundaries. Despite these apprehensions, the Village of Pinehurst Council has greenlit the Pinewild Phase 5 Major Subdivision development plan. Currently home to approximately 920 households, this expansion will introduce 78 additional single-family lots to Pinewild.

Festival D’Avion Friday and Saturday at the Moore County Airport

Located just a stone's throw from Pinehurst, the Moore County Airport in Carthage, NC, is set to host the Festival D’Avion, a grand homage to the wonders of flight and freedom. Tickets are available on the Festival D’Avion website.

The two-day event, spanning Friday and Saturday, promises an aerial spectacle with military aircraft displays, precision flyovers by the Bandit Flight Team, and showcases of vintage planes. Attendees can also look forward to parachute teams, sightseeing tours via fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, and live performances, including the 82nd Airborne Chorus. On the ground, local vendors, the Junior Pilot KidsZone featuring giant inflatables and games, a Halloween costume contest, and a plethora of food and drink options ensure fun for all ages. And for the little ones? An abundance of free candy awaits!

The Festival D’Avion was recently named one of the Signature Events of the Southeast for 2023 by the Southeast Tourism Society.
