Ace Hardware Invests in Airport Rd. Enhancements, No Taxpayer Dollars Involved

In the coming week, the owners of Ace Hardware in Whispering Pines will be funding necessary upgrades to Airport Rd., adjacent to their upcoming new location. It's important to note that these improvements are not reliant on taxpayer dollars or government funding.

Airport Road falls under state jurisdiction, so the responsibility for enhancements does not fall on the Town of Southern Pines. Ace Hardware has expressed their gratitude towards the town, citing an excellent working relationship and immense appreciation for the town's support.

The planned changes encompass several key improvements:

1. The widening of select sections of Airport Rd.

2. The addition of a much-needed turn lane on Airport Rd.

3. Enhancements to the traffic circle, which will include a slip lane to enhance the efficiency of traffic flow between Airport Rd. and Hwy 22.

While these upgrades may result in some temporary traffic delays, the end result promises to be highly beneficial and well worth the effort.

Fowler is now facing a charge of felony motor vehicle larceny and is being held at the Moore County Detention Center on a $1,500 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on November 1.

Arrest Made in Moore County Vehicle Vandalism Case

An arrest has been made in an investigation conducted by the Moore County Sheriff's Department. The case began with a report of vehicle damage at the Sandhills Collision Center in the Seven Lakes Community. Robert Burdick, 48-year-old resident of Pinehurst, has been arrested and charged with felony arson of personal property and misdemeanor property damage. His secured bond is set at $7,500, and he is scheduled to appear in court on October 25.

H.R.W. Management Takes Over Seven Lakes West Operations

Community Association Services (CAS) has been replaced by H.R.W. Management, which manages many other communities in North Carolina. H.R.W. Management is a subsidiary of Associa, the largest HOA management company in the US.

An ad hoc committee committee is currently assisting with the implementation of the Town Square communication platform, which residents can use for various purposes, including managing accounts and making amenity reservations.

The emphasis is on enhanced customer service and community engagement as part of the long-term strategy for Seven Lakes West under H.R.W.'s management.

Instant Teams: Pioneers in Empowering Military Spouses Worldwide

Meet Instant Teams, the game-changers who are redefining remote work for military spouses. Founded by Army spouses Liza Rodewald and Erica McMannes seven years ago, Instant Teams is making life easier for military families with innovative tech and a mission to bridge employment gaps.

Based at 670 SW Broad St. in Southern Pines, Instant Teams boasts a talent marketplace that's all about skills, not just resumes. They've revolutionized hiring with online assessments, skills accelerators, and e-interviews, giving military spouses access to flexible, remote job opportunities.

Their latest brainchild, Twelve Million Plus (12M+), is stealing the spotlight. It's the world's first verified community app exclusively for military spouses. Think of it as a global hangout where over twelve million military spouses can connect, share wisdom, and access resources, covering everything from family support to career growth.

But Instant Teams doesn't just work virtually; they've planted roots in the Moore County community. In 2023, they opened a community co-working space in Southern Pines, a hotspot for military spouses looking to co-work, learn, and network. From comedy shows to career panels, they're bringing the local community together.

Why the dedication? Instant Teams understands the staggering unemployment rates among military spouses, which are five times higher than the national average. The constant moves and military life complexities can make traditional jobs a no-go. That's why Instant Teams champions remote opportunities, career continuity, and upskilling.

And they're not stopping there. They've partnered with Grow with Google to offer free career certificates to military spouses. Plus, they're actively participating in community events like the Moore County Business Connect Networking Social on October 18 and the Moore County Schools' Military Family Fair on October 24.

Instant Teams, with tech innovation and a global support network, is rewriting the script for military spouses, turning challenges into opportunities, and creating a brighter future for those who serve on the home front.
