Roadwork on NC 2 from the Circle to Hwy 5 in Pinehurst

Please be informed that NCDOT will start resurfacing operations on NC 2, stretching from the main traffic circle in Pinehurst to Highway 5 (Beulah Hill Rd), beginning Sunday, October 1st. These nighttime activities are scheduled from 8pm to 7am and are expected to continue through the end of next week. We urge you to exercise caution while traveling this area or consider taking an alternate route.

Drug Bust Near Robbins Leads to Arrest of Two Individuals on Multiple Charges

Moore County deputies arrested two individuals, Jackie James Brady and Kimberly Dawn Harris, during a drug investigation near Robbins. They discovered cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and cash. Brady faces multiple charges related to cocaine trafficking and possession, while Harris is charged with conspiracy and drug possession. Both are scheduled to appear in court on October 25th. Brady's bond is set at $150,000 secured, while Harris has a $75,000 unsecured bond.

Moore County & Sandhills Pageant Results

On September 23, the BPAC was alive with rhinestones, crowns and gowns. The following young ladies received their crown:
Calli Brielle McIntyre was crowned Miss Moore County 2024; McKenzie Baddour was crowned Miss Moore County Teen 2024; Sarah Beth Howard was crowned Miss Sandhills 2024 and Keely Deal was crowned Miss Sandhills Teen.

Brielle McIntyre emerged victorious in the talent segment of the competition and secured both the community service accolade and the people's choice award. This achievement earned McIntyre $1,500 in scholarship funds. We wish her well as Miss Moore County 2024 and in the Miss North Carolina Pageant in June 2024.

Creative Expressions Piano Studio

Striking a Chord in the Heart of Downtown Aberdeen

Greg Coker, the maestro behind Creative Expressions Piano Studio, has transformed his lifelong passion into a dream come true. With over 40 years of playing and 20 years of teaching experience under his belt, he's been sharing the magic of piano with students of all ages. After years of home-based teaching and a stint at Sandhills Piano Studio, he took a leap of faith and opened his very own studio in downtown Aberdeen in February 2023.

What sets Creative Expressions Piano Studio apart is its unique and welcoming setup. Parents and siblings can relax in a comfy, spacious waiting area complete with a viewing window into the teaching studio. Free Wi-Fi, a coffee bar, and streaming TV make the wait enjoyable. Coker offers both private and group lessons, extending his passion to special needs students through tailored music classes.

But it doesn't stop there; Creative Expressions Piano Studio isn't just about music—it's about making a positive impact. Coker and his studio actively support the National Fragile-X Foundation and the North Carolina Fragile-X Foundation. This commitment stems from a personal connection, as three of his grandchildren live with Fragile-X Syndrome.

As for future plans, Coker is hitting all the right notes. He's gearing up for his very first piano recital at the studio this December, promising a harmonious future for Creative Expressions Piano Studio and the Aberdeen community.
