Shooting Incident Near Robbins on Mount Carmel Road

On Monday, a woman was shot in the foot by an older man, believed to be her father, near their homes on Mount Carmel Road in Robbins. The man, who has mental health concerns, retreated to his house post-incident. Both were taken to the hospital – the woman for her injuries and the man for evaluation. The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation, and charges are pending.

Four Injured in Two-Car Crash at Busy Aberdeen Intersection

On Monday evening, four people were injured in a two-car crash at the intersection of U.S. Route 1 and the Food Lion and Harris Teeter shopping plazas in Aberdeen, North Carolina on Monday evening. A Ford Fusion and Chrysler Town & Country minivan collided at the U.S. 1 plaza entrance, where there is no stoplight. The drivers of both vehicles and two minors in the Chrysler were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles sustained major damage in the collision. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. Emergency crews cleared debris from the highway and tow trucks removed the heavily damaged vehicles from the scene.

Aberdeen Police Department Welcomes New Officers

The Aberdeen Police Department proudly welcomed its latest members, Officer Sean O'Dowd and Officer Jose Zapol. Both officers took their oath of duty in a ceremony attended by fellow officers, town representatives, family, and community members. They will soon embark on their field training officer program with the department. Moore County Connect extends our warmest congratulations and welcome to Officers O'Dowd and Zapol.
