Admission is open to any monetary donation, with all proceeds dedicated to enhancing the Martin 'off-leash' Dog Park. This event is proudly hosted by Southern Pines Parks and Recreation and champions the bond between humans and their four-legged friends. Mark the date and wag along! 🐾

Homeward Kitchen Replaces Old Chik-fil-A this Fall in Southern Pines

What is replacing the old Chik-Fil-A bldg? Golden Corral Corp. is unveiling its new fast-casual dining concept, Homeward Kitchen, in Southern Pines, N.C. Occupying the 4,200-square-foot space previously belonging to Chick-fil-A, this outlet deviates from the traditional buffet style of Golden Corral, targeting a younger audience with counter service. Homeward Kitchen will offer comfort dishes served directly to tables. The menu features both classic comfort food and new additions, with the grand opening set for this fall. The company is also exploring additional sites across several states for this new concept.

Man Severely Burned in Vass Fire Involving Home and Car

A fire on Monday evening on Water Hills Lane, just outside Vass, destroyed a car and damaged a home. As emergency crews responded to the vehicle fire, a man entered the burning house. Firefighters entered the home and rescued the man as flames surrounded the individual. The man was later airlifted to the UNC Burn Center with serious burns. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Moore County Public Safety and other agencies.
