Motorcyclist Arrested in Moore County: Meth Seized, $600K Bond Set

A motorcyclist was arrested by Moore County Sheriff’s Office detectives after a traffic stop on Etta Bell Road in Eagle Springs due to a missing registration plate. During the stop, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found. The motorcyclist, Jesse Mabe, 39, of Biscoe, faces charges including trafficking in methamphetamine and driving without a registration plate. He is detained at the Moore County Detention Center with a $600,000 secured bond.

Alleged Murder-Suicide Sparks Joint Investigation

On September 14, a vehicle was stopped by a Southern Pines Police officer at the Highway 1 and Morganton Road ramp due to a violation. The driver, Tito Matos, 37, was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Shortly after, it was revealed the vehicle was linked to a Fayetteville homicide involving the deceased, Jessica Moore, 35. The Fayetteville and Southern Pines police departments, along with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, are jointly investigating the case.
