Pinecrest HS Wins Conference and Sets School Record!

During a 3A/4A Sandhills Athletic Conference game against Union Pines at Wilhoit Stadium in Cameron, the Pinecrest High School Patriots football team clinched a historic win over Union Pines with a score of 60-3, marking the school's first-ever 10-0 regular season. Congratulations Patriots!

Double Eagle: Moore County's New Hub for Virtual Golf and Social Chill

Double Eagle Indoor Golf and Lounge has launched in Southern Pines, Moore County, offering a unique blend of virtual golfing and socializing. The first of its kind in the region, the center provides an immersive golfing experience with over 200 virtual global courses from its Trackman Library. Alongside golf, it boasts a lounge with a bar, snacks, and TVs. Instead of a full dining menu, visitors are encouraged to order from nearby restaurants or have meals delivered. Established by co-owners Emily White, Cory White, Roger Powell, and Barbara Powell, the venue opened on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Woman Wanted by Aberdeen Police Department

Do you know this woman? The Aberdeen Police Department has repeatedly sought the public's assistance in identifying individuals from the Moore County Walmart. Recently, they released photos of two women from the store, one with orange hair and arm tattoos and another wearing an orange "Space Viking" t-shirt. The specific reasons for their interest in these individuals have not been disclosed.

Moore County Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Seizure; West End Man Arrested

The Moore County Sheriff’s Department seized crack cocaine and drug-related items during a traffic stop on Thursday. Marcus Harris, 53, from West End, faces charges including felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, using a vehicle for drug activities, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with a revoked license. The traffic stop took place in the 7800 block of N. C. Highway 22 in Whispering Pines. Harris is currently held at the Moore County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond and is scheduled for a court appearance on Nov. 9. He remains innocent until proven otherwise.

Motorcyclist Airlifted After Collision with Car on Highway 15-501 South

A motorcycle and a Volkswagen Beetle collided on Highway 15-501 South near Aberdeen. The Beetle stopped to turn, causing the motorcyclist to crash into its rear. The injured motorcyclist was airlifted to a trauma center, while the car's driver was unharmed. The incident is under investigation by the N.C. State Highway Patrol.
